Applying for the Teacher Training Course

Course delivery is designed so that teachers can continue working part-time or full-time whilst gaining a teaching qualification

How to Apply:

Check you meet the entry requirements (see below)
Download and Complete the teacher training application form
Pay the fees (see below)

Course Entry Requirements:

A minimum of a Level 3 qualification or equivalent in the specialist subject relevant to their teaching e.g. GCE A Level, NVQ3, BTEC Higher, L3 Certificate in Key Skills, HND. Equivalence will be utilised in specialisms where no Level 3 qualification exists
GCSE in English at Grade C or better or Level 2 equivalent already held or gained as part of initial needs analysis and induction
Applicants must have access to at least 150 hours of teaching practice per year for over the duration of the course. (nb: most modules require an observation so regular teaching throughout the year(s) is necessary)
Applicants may be exempt from some elements if you have an existing teaching qualification, (e.g. you must have already achieved PTLLS)
Evidence of a satisfactory CRB check
Applicants must be minimum 19 years old
Support from your employer who will need to allocate you an experienced subject specialist mentor to guide and advise you in the delivery of your subject teaching*.

Course Fees:

PTLLS - 1 term course £400

CTLLS - 1 year course £950*

DTLLS - 2 year course £1,900*

*In the case where an applicant does not have a suitable subject mentor, Applicants must inform ACE (as soon as possible). ACE will make all attempts to find a suitable mentor. There will be an additional charge to cover the cost of the mentoring. This cost will most likely be between £600 - £1,000 per year, depending on the location of the applicant. An exact quote can only be provided, once an application has been received.

Easy Payment Plan:

£500 to be paid at the time of applying PLUS

for CTLLS: £100 per month for 4 month and £50 for 1 month (by direct debit only)
for DTLLS: £100 per month for 14 months (by direct debit only)

(these prices do not include cost of mentoring as mentioned above)
